Virtual Races

Note: These are ones I select for members of M Factor Fitness. Feel free to look through the Virtual Strides website and choose any other race you want.

They feature at least one race a month but they buy a certain number of medals and have a certain number of slots open for each race.

If that race doesn’t sell out, you can always pick it until it sells out.

Virtual runs are a great way to stay motivated and hold yourself accountable.

I am partnering with Virtual Strides to offer you a new race to participate in every month…virtually.

This means you can sign up for a race to benefit a worthy charity, select a distance and do it anytime during the month.

The races are 5k, 10K and half-marathon. You pick the distance.

Do the run, submit your time and get some cool swag. (Finisher medals may not be your thing but your kids/grandkids will love them).

Let’s face it, people have busy schedules.

I remember when my daughter would have weekend softball tournaments and my son would have baseball games. We were running in so many different directions, I could never sign up for a run.

What if you get sick the night before a race? Stinks doesn’t it?

What if you get injured?

Virtual runs give you flexibility.

Here are a couple reasons to consider a virtual run.

  • It is cold/hot outside and you would rather do the race on a treadmill or elliptical.
  • You aren’t around on Saturday mornings but you still want to test yourself.
  • You don’t like crowds.
  • You don’t live near a town that has races.

This is why virtual runs make sense.

  • You can run with a friend in another state.
  • You can organize a group and do the run whenever you want.
  • You can even join in with me as I do one every month.

Running can be a lonely sport but it can also be about community.

I started this website because I realized there were other people like me who would never be a fast runner but enjoyed the sport.

Sign up below to get an email every month about the latest virtual run.

“Why sign up and pay for a race when I can just go outside and do it myself for free?”

I have been in the fitness business a long time.

Every once in a while someone will say “Why should I pay you to train me, I can watch YouTube videos for free.”

I can tell you 3 things about that person.

  • They have no idea what I really do.
  • They are unwilling to commit to doing something.
  • They will look the same or worse 6 months from now.

There is magic about committing to a date. That is why I scheduled all my winter races during the summer and all my summer races during the winter.

If you sign up and plunk your money down now, you have made a commitment.

Commitments feel good. They motivate, no matter how scary they may seem.

My Bonus offer to you

Disclaimer:  I am an affiliate with Virtual Strides which means I get a very small percentage for each sign-up. The majority of the money goes to the chosen charity.

If you sign up through me, I will offer you free coaching, injury and rehab advice.

People pay me for this everyday but I want to get people off the couch and moving.

Fitness Challenges

I am thinking about bringing these back. These are monthly challenges to reach a fitness goal.

More to come soon.
